A wildcat strike is currently taking place at Walt Disney World, which is not only the Most Magical Place on Earth, but also an icon of conformism, making the past day inside the NBA bubble a historic one. This morning, the NBA referees began their march against racism in support of the NBA players from within Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort—they cannot leave the bubble, but are doing their best to make a statement from within it.

Media on-site within the bubble recorded as the group marched out in solidarity. Just yesterday, the Milwaukee Bucks refused to partake in Game 5 of the NBA Playoffs. The Bucks decided as a team not to leave the locker room prior to yesterday’s game against the Orlando Magic. Bucks guard George Hill remarked, “we’re tired of the killings and the injustice.” The restart of the 2019-2020 season has had a strong emphasis on bringing to light issues of police brutality, racial injustice, and bolstering the Black Lives Matter movement, but after the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin by police officers, the players decided to take a stand.

Cast Members on-site clapped and cheered in support of those marching.

An emergency meeting was held last night, but no agreements were reached. A second follow-up meeting is scheduled for 11:00 AM this morning, coinciding with the timing of the NBA’s Board of Governors call. At this time, it’s unknown whether today’s Playoff games will go on as scheduled, or whether the season itself can resume once again.

  1. Every time a black person is killed in America, this is what happens. A woke mob causing a scene. NBA and professional sports are trash. Just look at their ratings. They’re done.

And shame on Disney for allowing this to take place on their watch. Serves them right for allowing the NBA to be there. Bad PR consequences it will take a lot to recover from.

I’ll say it again, “get woke, go broke.” Fools.
