We visited Disney’s Animal Kingdom on a not-so-crowded day after Labor Day weekend to see what was in store for us.

It’s Tough to be a Bug! had a five-minute wait in the morning.

You can find a reference to “Countdown to Extinction,” which was the original name of “DINOSAUR” until 2000, on this bulletin board in DinoLand U.S.A.

The bulletin board has a map of DinoLand U.S.A. featuring the attraction with the label “Countdown to Extinction YOU MUST GO HERE!”

We visited Creature Comforts to check out the new Scar Cupcake.

Onto Africa.

Kilimanjaro Safaris had a 20-minute wait in the park’s early hours.

It’s nice that they kept this reference to “Big Red” and “Little Red” in the queue. These two elephants were original characters in the attraction.

Progress continues on this new themed structure near the end of the attraction.

In Serka Zong Bazaar, we found the new “buy one get one free” deal for select candy is being offered throughout the parks. This includes Goofy’s Candy Co., Chip & Dale Snacks, and Chocolate Factory.

This chocolate candy on the top shelf is not included in the deal.

John Smith now appears with Pocahontas and Meeko on the Discovery River Character Cruise.

Thank you for joining us at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Stay tuned to WDWNT for the latest Disney parks news!
