PHOTO REPORT: Magic Kingdom 9/11/20 (American Flag at Half-Staff, Splash Mountain Merchandise Restocked, Halloween Mickey Pumpkin Pandora Charm, and More)
We visited Magic Kingdom on a cloudy, not-so-crowded day with some scattered thunderstorms. The liquid sunshine doesn’t bother us, though. A rainy day at Disney is better than a rainy day at home.
On 9/11, Americans remember the horrific terrorist attacks that took place on September 11, 2001. American flags around the country, including at Walt Disney World, have been placed at half-staff to honor the victims and first responders.
Splashdown Photos was restocked with some Splash Mountain merchandise in the morning. There were plenty of the two new pins that lasted all day.
There were also ornaments that sold out by the afternoon.
There were about 50 Splash Mountain tumblers in stock, but they sold out by 9:00am. Each guest is allowed to buy up to 10.
The only Splash Mountain merchandise that’s almost always available are the youth t-shirts and the tie-die tops.
This new Pressed Penny machine has appeared underneath the Walt Disney World Railroad Frontierland station. It has four different designs featuring Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, one of the Splash Mountain vultures, Br’er Rabbit, and Mickey and Minnie.
Each design is $1.00 and be purchased with cash or credit card.
Splash Mountain went up to a 50 minute wait shortly after opening. Guests are lining up to keep cool and to take their final plunges into the Briar Patch before the attraction is rethemed to Princess and the Frog.
