Preparations are underway to reopen Gaston’s Tavern ahead of its scheduled reopening on Friday, September 4th. The restaurant closed along with the park back in March.

At the restaurant’s entrance, signage in the doors has been updated to designate them as entrances or exits.

This is done to reduce crowding and the risk of possibly spreading COVID-19.

Outside the entrance, old social distancing markers have been removed, and blue tape indicates where new ones will be placed.

When we visited, Cast Members were working to remove the old markers.

Nearby, a marker notes where the designated exit is located.

The blue tape extends back to the bridge between the area and the rest of Fantasyland and all around the courtyard.

Looking through the window, we can see that tables have been spaced out to keep distanced, with certain ones made unavailable, as evidenced by signage on the tables with chairs removed.

For those who enjoy snacking with the mighty Gaston, it’s good news to see this place coming back to life. Keep reading WDWNT for updates, including when it finally opens!

  1. This place could literally have so much more potential! If they made the front of the tavern a cafe and converted the back portion, complete with a secret entrance, into a steakhouse (Gaston’s kind of steakhouse) it would better utilized. Only having pastries there dosent seem like a very Gaston thing to have.
