PHOTOS: Royal Blue Segment Revealed as Painting Begins on Magic Kingdom Toll Plaza Transformation

Yesterday, work began on the transformation of the Magic Kingdom toll plaza to celebrate the park’s upcoming 50th anniversary. When we returned to Magic Kingdom today, workers had already made significant progress on the plaza.

The refurbishment is scheduled to take eight weeks. Three lanes have been closed off for the first step of repainting.

The roof of the plaza in the closed-off section has already been repainted dark, royal blue.

The arch above the “W” has also been painted royal blue, while the original color was gold.

It seems workers were beginning on the front wall of the plaza.

More workers were in a high reach at the back of the plaza.

This is our first look at the future coloring of the plaza, though there is still a lot more to go.
