Though Walt Disney World is still (supposedly) restricting park capacities, we have noticed an uptick in wait times and crowds this week at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom. Disney’s Animal Kingdom also seems to be getting busier this weekend.
When entering the park, there weren’t too many guests.
But within a couple hours, there were larger crowds and lines.
The wait time for Na’vi River Journey was 45 minutes and the line ran out of the queue area.
By the afternoon, the line for Na’vi River Journey had left Pandora and reached Tiffins.
Flight of Passage had a 60 minute wait.
Even Pongu Pongu’s line was taking up space.
Expedition Everest’s queue crossed the nearby bridge.
Dinosaur had a 35 minute wait but its queue was contained to the building.
The line for Kilimanjaro Safaris almost reached the Festival of the Lion King theatre.
Kali River Rapids only had a 10 minute wait.
Even areas without extended lines were getting crowded.
What have lines and crowds been like on your Animal Kingdom trips this year? Let us know in the comments.
so no fp,no after hours events ,no fireworks or parades ,the wait times are going to be a problem moving forward. I really hope they have a plan because the parks are really starting to get full again.
All of my recent visits have felt crowded. Especially at Hollywood Studios. It’s honestly not much fun to go right now with short hours, masks, many things closed and crowds that feel as miserable as a a moderately busy day before the pandemic. Jumping on almost any ride quickly is not a reality.
60 minutes for flight of Passage is a walk on compared with normal wait times. In addition, with stage shows not operating at this time, the several thousands of guests are now part of the crowd. It’s the same at the Studios. Approximately 5000 guests can be in the shows. And physical distancing makes the queues look longer than they are.
Which is why they should make fast passes available again…
Once you’ve waited an hour+ for a few rides, it’s time to leave. No time to shop or look around or eat in a restaurant.
Not to mention it crowds everyone together in the lines regardless of social distancing.
Fast passes would break everyone up and keep things moving.
Fast passes, people, fast passes
It’s still pretty dead compared to how it was. And remember, as busy as it looks, it’s still reduced capacity. But yeah, they’ll have to open more things to help mitigate the crowds.
