“The Mandalorian” Picks Up Five Creative Arts Emmy Awards for Disney+

The Mandalorian is making itself known at the 2020 Creative Arts Emmys. The first-year series won five Emmy Awards this evening. The series picked up the first-ever Emmy for the Disney+ streaming service. The initial win was for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for “Chapter 2: The Child.” That award was just the start for the series set in the Star Wars universe, as it continued to earn Emmys. Disney+ is nominated for 19 Emmy Awards. The Mandalorian accounts for 15 nominations. All five wins are detailed below.

Outstanding Special Visual Effects

It is no surprise that the first win for the series is for visual effects. The winning episode is “Chapter 2: The Child.”

Outstanding Cinematography

This Emmy recognizes “Chapter 7: The Reckoning.” The Mandalorian won for a single-camera series (half-hour).

Outstanding Sound Mixing

The Child is a favorite, even with Emmy voters. “Chapter 2” got its second nod of the evening.

Outstanding Sound Editing

The series premiere – “Chapter 1: The Mandalorian” – won a statuette for sound editing.

Outstanding Production Design

The series is known for its use of practical and digital sets. This Emmy award cements the reputation. This is the third Creative Arts Emmy for “Chapter 1: The Mandalorian.”
