VIDEO: Maskless Man Ejected from Disney’s Hollywood Studios Today While Screaming Misquotes from Pixar’s “A Bugs Life”

We’ve seen some stuff at the parks in the past few months, but nothing tops today’s scene at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where a man was escorted out of the park for not wearing a mask.

A maskless guest was escorted out of Disney’s Hollywood Studios today for failure to comply with the mandatory face mask rule.

As security removed him from the park, he screamed misquotes from Pixar’s A Bug’s Life. You can see the video, captured by our very own Pete Carney (@yourWDWguy on Twitter), below:

The man is being escorted by at least three uniformed security officers and more plainclothes officers in the Grand Avenue area of the park. He is yelling at watching guests, trying to convince them to join him.

Near the end of the video, he distinctly yells, “Remember the movie that came out at Walt Disney World? It was called A Bug’s Life! Remember Hopper? He said, ‘If one guy stands up, one ant stands up’!”, in a failed attempt to stir up a rebellion of sorts against face masks.

He is referencing two scenes in A Bug’s Life. The first is when Hopper, the film’s villain, talks about Flik trying to stand up to him. He states, “You let one ant stand up to us, then they all might stand up.” This is what happens at the end of the film, when the ants realize that there are more of them than there are grasshoppers as Flik says, “Ants don’t serve grasshoppers. It’s you who need us. We’re a lot stronger than you say we are.”

Witnesses say the man also yelled, “I’m not crazy! I have a wife and two kids!”

Masks are required at Walt Disney World and most public places right now due to the COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 is an airborne disease and wearing masks drastically mitigates the spread of the sometimes deadly virus, protecting not only the wearer but the rest of the population. Face mask requirements in Orange County, Florida could last through spring 2021 or until a vaccine is available. Guests refusing to wear masks could endanger other guests and Cast Members, and lead to the theme parks being closed once more.

    • He was screaming in the video … or if you want to split hairs, he was shouting himself hoarse. Disney park employees are used to kicking people out quietly. He wanted to lose his voice yelling, so they let him. Banned for life and wasted his money to make a scene and get kicked out. What a doofus!

  1. I am SO HAPPY he got very publicly removed from the park. People think they are so special and charismatic. They don’t grasp they are just idiots.

  2. the fact of the matter is, everyone is sick of the masks, were all sick of the lockdown. it was 15 days to slow the SPREAD, not 6 months

    • Yeah, we’re sick of it. And you know what, it’s idiots continuing to NOT wear masks that’s prolonging everyone’s misery!

  3. I’m sure his temper tantrum was well worth the permanent ban from the parks. Such a shame he couldn’t simply wear a mask like normal people do. Imagine if your life was this hard.

  4. “Sir, A Bugs Life is in a different park. I’m going to have to ask you restrict your misquotes to Toy Story or Star Wars.”

  5. Face coverings are a part of our lives, why can’t people just accept that fact?!? I just do not understand people like this. Let’s keep everyone safe, folks. Wear a mask!!!

  6. Way to stick it to the man – stand up and fight for your right to reject healthy safeguards and declare your pride to spread Covid-19 to everyone around you.

    What a brave soul /s

  7. Sounds like he wasn’t a true Disney fan anyway if he couldn’t even get the movie lines right. No wonder his wife and kids are nowhere to be seen. They socially distanced themselves from him long ago. #ABumsLife

  8. 1) I bet he was practicing that Bugs Life speech for weeks beforehand.
    2) Like too many others, he seems to think that he has rights at WDW. It’s private property. The only rights you have are those promised to you in the “contract” that comes with park admission. Right now, wearing a mask is part of that “contract”. You have the right to stay home, you have the right to get arrested. You don’t have the right to do whatever the heck you want.

  9. Honestly? He’s a grown man! He should know how to act like one! I think Disney should ban individuals/families that cause problems for other guests/Cast Members/ and security over the safety regulations.

  10. Reasons to wear a mask:
    1. You don’t have to walk around with the guilt of being Patient Zero.
    2. You have less chance of getting it. Or giving it.
    3. You probably have a higher chance of being asymptomatic.
    4. You may well have less chance of getting super sick.
    5. You may have less chance of dying of it.

Reasons NOT to wear a mask:
You don’t give a damn about yourself, your family, or anyone else.

    • Unfortunately, only partly correct. Outside of high filtration masks like the N95, wearing masks does little to prevent the intake of particles. This is the problem with the non-maskers. The mask does a tremendous amount to prevent the expulsion of particles. They only work for a carrier of the virus, not the uninfected. This is the sinister issue. People like him refuse to wear masks and kill others because not wearing a mask increases the chance they will spread it and you wearing yours to be safe will not protect you. It’s not a right, it’s a public safety issue. I can’t be safe if others won’t wear them.

      • I agree completely. That’s why I get upset when others don’t wear one. I always do out of respect for others. The original post was a generalization. The protection for the wearer is minimal except that the wearer is also more likely to practice social distancing. I’ve also noticed that people who don’t wear a mask seem more likely to get into your space and start conversations. Figures.

  11. How do people think not wearing masks is a “right”? Is not wearing some other piece of clothing a right? Can I refuse to wear pants in public and claim my “rights”? No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service. NOOO!!!! All my rights are being violated!!!

Also, most people do not understand masks at all. They do almost nothing to prevent the intake of virus particles. They are very effective at reducing the output of particles. Refusing to wear a mask is not putting your life at risk, it’s refusing to protect the lives of those you are breathing on intentionally. Unless you can find N95 masks and face shields, you cannot prevent the intake of droplets containing the virus. I caught the virus and I always used my mask and washed my hands. It’s morons like him that gave it to me and my family. I’m still feeing effects a month later.

  12. Does he avoid going out to eat because they say no shoes, no shirt, no service? B he looks no, he doesn’t. So just live with the rule or don’t go, you have that freedom in America!

  13. Hey, if you don’t want to follow the rules, then don’t come to the park. Simple as that. No one enjoys wearing a mask, but this is life as long as covid is around.
