BREAKING: Walt Disney World Entrances Getting 50th Anniversary Makeover

Walt Disney World has just announced the long-awaited makeover of its classic entrances, which will be getting an all-new look for the resort’s 50th anniversary!

Concept art has been released for the newly reimagined entrances, which will mark the removal of the Cinderella Castle cloud design and “Where Dreams Come True” tagline, which was added for the Year of a Million Dreams in 2006, as well as the original color scheme for these signs:

  • World Drive
  • World Center Drive
  • Western Way
  • Osceola Parkway
  • Hotel Plaza Boulevard (bookend signs, no archway)

You’ll notice that the red-lettered logo will now be replaced with crisp white letters, and iridescent rose gold flags much like the colors we’re now seeing added to the Magic Kingdom toll plaza—to match the new color scheme of Cinderella Castle. The “Where Dreams Come True” tagline will be replaced with “The Most Magical Place on Earth” along a gold banner.

From the Disney Parks Blog:

Starting today, these gateways to a Disney vacation are about to get some pixie dust as we begin to adorn them with a new color palette that complements the recent royal makeover of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park. The rendering above gives you a first glimpse at what the entrances will look like when they’re finished; in addition, you’ll see these colors appear on the Magic Kingdom Park Auto Plaza as we bring a new shimmer to that iconic entryway.

These refreshed gateways will continue to set the tone for all the stories you’ll tell and the memories you’ll cherish long after your visit. They’re also part of the broad tapestry of new experiences happening across Walt Disney World as part of the resort’s historic transformation that includes expansive themed lands like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, new attractions like Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and new places to stay like Disney’s Riviera Resort.

So, what do you think of the new look for Walt Disney World’s magical entrances? Let us know in the comments!

  1. Omg maybe it’s the 90’s kid in me, but I’m hating all the drastic color changes they’re making. That purple logo would always bring me such joy and nostalgia every time I see it. This is too much change all at once 😭

  2. I am so excited. I went on opening day, because it was my 13th Birthday and I plan to be there on the 50th Anniversary.

  3. The new entrance looks so bland and devoid of magic. The current one is colorful, joyful, and this one just looks lifeless to me.

  4. Do they have to ruin everything at Disney World? First their plan to change Spaceship Earth, The UGLY paint job on Cinderella Castle, and now this?! WHY?!

  5. Now as you have proudly presented all the wishes of the past are all-new again , with even more dreams . Let us dream even more Bigger and Happier .

  6. It has the simplistic appeal and a modern trend. However, doesn’t “paint” the picture of magical for me.
