Ever wanted to know what it takes to make a Circle-Vision 360 film? Well, director Jeff Blyth has just released a memoir doing just that!

Blyth, known for such Disney classics as “The Timekeeper” and “Reflections of China,” has written “Polishing the Dragons: Making EPCOT’s Wonders of China” – an in-depth look at his first film for Disney.

In the book, Blyth dives deep into the struggles of creating the classic opening day EPCOT film and the creative process of working with the nine-camera Circle-Vision 360 system. The book also contains over 400 of the author’s personal photographs in full color, chronicling his adventure.

In an exchange with WDWNT, Blyth recounts how a certain hobby made writing the book possible.

“Luckily, I have been writing in a journal every day for the last forty years,” said Blyth, “so putting together an accurate chronology of how the film came to be was not difficult. I’m glad I didn’t have to rely on just my memory as countless fascinating incidents that I’d forgotten popped up in these journal pages and now have been memorialized in my book.”

Mr. Blyth also recently worked with WDWNT to create a director’s commentary for the sequel China pavilion film “Reflections of China,” which can be watched in 360° 4K.

In conjunction with the commentary, Blyth was also interviewed on WDWNT’s “Dreamfinders” podcast, hosted by Nathan Hartman.
