125 Point Minimum Now Required for Disney Vacation Club Membership Perks

Disney Vacation Club has increased the number of total points members must purchase to be eligible for Membership Magic perks.

Members who reach the point requirement will then receive a member ID card with which they gain access to dining, recreation, shopping, and Annual Pass discounts. A member ID is also required to attend Moonlight Magic after-hours events.

According to DVC News, the DVC members-only website added the following disclaimer in regards to the increase:

Effective October 19, 2020, to obtain a Disney Vacation Club Membership Card, Members must accumulate a total of at least 125 Vacation Points purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc.

In April 2016, any number of points purchased directly from DVC would make the member eligible for owner perks. DVC instated a 75-point minimum in February 2018 and then increased it to 100 in September 2019.

This increase to 125 points only applies to new buyers and anyone who did not meet the previous minimum.

  1. So if I bought directly through Disney in 2016 and have 100 points am I now excluded? Or grandfathered in to this new policy? I already have a blue card…
