As we saw with Walt Disney World back in June, Disneyland Resort is now installing contactless security scanners. These scanners by Evolv use artificial intelligence to detect weapons.

Instagram user paulsthemeparkadventures posted about the scanners at Downtown Disney District today.

This technology is meant to allow more people to go through scanners in a shorter amount of time, without sacrificing security. The scanners also improve on social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic since guards don’t have to get close to guests. You can watch Evolv’s video about the Evolv Express scanners below.

If you’ve been to Walt Disney World in the past few months, you may have spotted some of these scanners in different locations. We will likely see more scanners showing up at Disneyland Resort as we approach the theme parks’ eventual reopening.
