Welcome to another busy weekend here at the Universal Orlando Resort. After the parks hit capacity yesterday, we decided we better get up early to ensure we could get in. Well, we weren’t the only ones with that idea.
Lines stretched back into CityWalk for both parks, but the Team Members managed to keep things organized. The lines did move quickly and the parks were utilizing all turnstyles as well as scanning tickets at the exit and allowing guests to enter that way. This helped to move things quickly, even though the lines were long.
We started our day at Universal Studios Florida and we were not surprised by how busy it was. Crowded weekends are becoming normal around here.
We also spotted several food locations open early, which really helped. Mel’s Drive-In had opened around 9:30 AM, and already had quite a few guests dining in.
The Starbucks line is always long first thing in the morning.
Diagon Alley didn’t seem as crowded as we expected, but there were a lot of people waiting in line for wands and Butterbeer.
We spotted a lonely Butterbeer sitting on the recycling bin. If we waited in one of those long line and spent that much money, we wouldn’t want to throw it away, either. It’s highly unlikely that anyone will pick it up and drink it during a pandemic, but we’ve seen stranger things around here.
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts had a 210 minute wait this morning.
Just as a reminder, there are still Grad Bash cups available from the stands near Men in Black Alien Attack. These are $6.38 for the entire day of refills, but you cannot reactivate the cup again. This is a great option if you’ve forgotten your refill cup at home or you’re just visiting for one day.
The Williams of Hollywood Prop Shop was open again today, so we stopped in to browse the selection. We’ve got our eye on a few items.
Central Park Crepes always has a long line, and today they seemed to be very busy.
Halloween Horror Nights face masks are now on sale for 30% off.
Jurassic Park, Jurassic World, and Hufflepuff face masks have been restocked around the parks. These styles have been very popular, so make sure you grab one while you can!
You’ll probably catch me looking like this on a Friday night.
Cold Stone Creamery in CityWalk has a new Super Mario ice cream available. You can get all the details here.
Upon arriving at Islands of Adventure, we finally caught the Croissant Moon open. They’re now open on the weekends. You can find sandwiches, pastry, and even cheesecake here.
If you’re looking for a stylish way to carry your park essentials, or your school supplies for Hogwarts, check out this Marauder’s Map Loungefly. It’s $60 and we found it at Islands of Adventure Trading Company.
After a quick afternoon rain shower, the crowds reemerged. That’s our cue to get out of here.
That’s all for this visit around the parks. It’s been a busy weekend, so thanks for braving the crowds with us. Be sure to keep following Universal Parks News Today for all the latest updates!
