We’ve been watching the removal of crossbeams from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort roof for almost two weeks now. Now over half of the crossbeams are gone from the iconic structure.
Horizontal and vertical support beams have also been removed as construction goes on.
The refurbished Great Ceremonial House will still have a crossbeam structure on the roof, but it will have significantly less beams.
The entire structure is being removed before beginning on the new version, which may or may not use some of the same beams.
Work will also soon begin on new Moana-themed rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The entire refurbishment will last until next summer, when the resort will finally reopen to all guests.
