With the reopening of Buena Vista Street just over a week away, we made our way to the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort to check out the latest holiday decorations and holiday merchandise! We arrived at Downtown Disney late in the afternoon on Tuesday. We found a spot to park and passed through the Temperature Screening and Security Checkpoint in less than 15 minutes.
Downtown Disney District
Our first stop was Disney’s Pin Traders, where we found some Haunted Mansion Holiday Gingerbread Collection Mystery Pins.
While the normal Downtown Disney Holiday Decor has not been announced or put up for the season yet, several of the stores along the Downtown Disney District have holiday decorations or holiday merchandise displayed in the windows.
Disney Home Store
The Disney Home Store has decked the halls of the store with festive holiday decorations and merchandise!
Virtual Queues
Now that holiday shopping is in full swing, we are seeing Virtual Queues become more common for the smaller stores at the Downtown Disney District.
Several times this week, we have waited over an hour for a return text to join the physical queue outside of Disney Home.
It is also common to wait over an hour for a return text inviting you to join the physical queue for Marceline’s Confectionery as well.
A Virtual Queue sign is set up outside of the newly-opened Star Wars Trading Post as well.
World of Disney
Holiday merchandise started to appear at the end of October around the Downtown Disney District.
Chip & Dale have made their way to World of Disney, dressed in their Holiday best!
Chip is getting into the holiday spirit with a Green Elf outfit.
Dale is wearing a Red Elf Costume and is sporting a fun peppermint candy belt buckle!
Both chipmunks are wearing Christmas hats. Dale’s hat sticks straight up, while Chip’s hat is floppy. The chipmunks are sold as a pair and are priced at $29.99.
We also spotted this adorable Holiday Pluto Park Pal!
Pluto is joining in on the festivities of the season with some reindeer antlers. The Reindeer Pluto Park Pal is available for $11.99.
These matching Mickey and Minnie Nutcrackers are now available at World of Disney. We think these nutcrackers would be “Snow Much Fun” and “Fab-YULE-us” to put next to our Christmas tree!
Both boxes feature Santa Mickey on one side and Goofy covered in wrapping paper on the other. The back of the box has Mickey and Minnie in a sleigh in front of a Holiday Castle. Each nutcracker is sold separately and can be purchased for $59.99.
This light-up Holiday Tapestry caught our eye while we were in the holiday section. The tapestry features Mickey and Minnie is matching outfits walking with Pluto and says “Happy Holidays”.
The back of the tapestry is black and has a pocket containing the battery pack with an on and off switch.
The tapestry comes with batteries! The Happy Holidays Light Up Tapestry retails for $59.99.
We also found a Santa Mickey Musical Figurine!
Santa Mickey is holding a present in one hand and a sack of gifts in the other.
The Santa Mickey Musical Figurine plays “Up On The Housetop” and retails for $44.99.
The Esplanade
While Disney California Adventure is preparing for the reopening of Buena Vista Street, the main entrance of Disneyland is still blocked off by a rope.
Earlier this week, we saw a new hand washing station to the right of the Disney California Adventure entrance.
We were able to peek through the entrance gates and get a look at some Holiday decor that has gone up on Buena Vista Street!
That’s a wrap on this trip to the Downtown Disney District. Make sure to check back, and follow us on social media via Instagram and Twitter for more updates on the Disneyland Resort.
