We are just under a week away from the reopening of Buena Vista Street at the Disneyland Resort! Join us as we navigate the Saturday crowds and look for new merchandise and decorations around the Downtown Disney District.
Parking
When we arrived at the Simba Parking Lot, we were directed to speak with a Cast Member at the toll booth regarding the upcoming parking changes for the reopening of Buena Vista Street.
We arrived a little after 10am on Saturday morning and did not have to wait long to park or get through the temperature screening and security check.
Lines, Lines, and More Lines
While it is no surprise to us that the weekends are busier at the Disneyland Resort, it is worth noting that even a little after 10am, multiple shopping locations had long lines to enter. Some stores such as World of Disney, Marceline’s Confectionery, and Disney Home were already utilizing Virtual Waitlists before 11am.
Earlier this week, we found multiple Limited Edition pins in various locations around the Downtown Disney District.
The Star Wars Trading Post was popular this morning and was utilizing a Virtual Waitlist by the afternoon.
The Backlot Premiere Shop at Stage 17 was not using a Virtual Waitlist when we visited. When exiting the store we did notice they were using additional ticket booth queues to accommodate the weekend crowds.
Disney Dress Shop
While visiting the Disney Dress Shop, we spotted this neon Mickey Mouse Shirt that also features the Disneyland Logo in neon lettering.
The back of the shirt is solid black.
While taking a photo of the sleeve we did notice that this shirt felt thinner than some of the other shirts available at the Disneyland Resort. The shirt retails for $36.99.
World of Disney
World of Disney has some new “The Mandalorian” merchandise available featuring The Child, or as he is affectionately referred to, Baby Yoda.
We found this children’s allover print shirt featuring The Child.
The shirt features the classic Star Wars logo written in a textured print.
Both the front and back of the shirt feature multiple images of The Child with bright green splatters around him. The shirt is priced at $24.99.
Not far from The Child shirt, we found this Sketchbook Collection Ornament with The Child in his pod.
The Child in his pod is ready to Protect, Attack, Snack, or Nap.
The Child ornament can be found in the Star Wars section of World of Disney and retails for $22.99.
While in the Star Wars section we uncovered these Mandalorian Darksaber toys!
The Darksaber lights up and makes sound.
You can activate the light and sound effects by pressing the button on the hilt of the Mandalorian Darksaber.
We of course had to try it out for ourselves!
The Mandalorian Darksaber is available for $29.99.
We also found these Stormtrooper pajama shorts.
The front and back of the shorts feature the Empire symbol, Star Wars Logo, Death Star, and Stormtrooper helmets all in a graffiti style print.
The pajama shorts have a drawstring at the waist. The Stormtrooper Pajama Shorts retail for $24.99.
While in the Christmas section at World of Disney, we spotted this Haunted Mansion Holiday Ornament.
Holiday Banners
Holiday banners have been placed on the lamp posts along the Downtown Disney District!
Afternoon Crowds
As we were leaving the Disneyland Resort, we decided to take a peek at the line to enter the Downtown Disney District.
Cast Members at the beginning of the line were informing guests that the estimated wait time to reach the temperature screening area was between 45 and 60 minutes.
Thank you for joining us on our visit to the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort. Make sure to check back, and follow us on social media via Instagram and Twitter for more updates on the Disneyland Resort.
