Work continues on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind – the family-friendly “storytelling coaster” featuring a groundbreaking ride system with vehicles that rotate 360 degrees. According to Imagineer Zach Riddley, the coaster is now being put through push/pull tests, where each ride vehicle is pulled through the entirety of the track.

A first look inside was revealed during today’s EPCOT – The Magic of Possibility D23 presentation, with the ride vehicle cycling through the track. Push/pull tests typically precede full-speed testing for coasters, so this marks a huge milestone for the attraction.

Each set piece and ride vehicle will have unique impact marks to show just how far they’ve come across the galaxy.

Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro revealed a first look inside the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind roller coaster at the Universe of Energy pavilion in EPCOT earlier this week during an IAAPA presentation—you can check it out here!

Currently, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is set for a 2021 opening date at EPCOT. Are you looking forward to experiencing this new thrill ride inside World Discovery? Let us know in the comments below!
