PHOTOS: Christmas Holiday Overlay Installation Continues at Living with the Land in EPCOT
Preparations are well underway for one of the coolest holiday offerings at Walt Disney World.
Light installation is still ongoing at Living with the Land in EPCOT, which turns the futuristic attraction into a seasonal holiday celebration.
As we enter the greenhouse, a cast member rakes the sand, while nearby, lights are being laid down.
The white markers on the sand seem to indicate where the lights will be placed to allow for a fuller display.
On the other side of the water, the papaya trees and metal support structure are all wrapped in lights.
It looks like little has been done yet by the dragon fruit. That being said, the red ties on the green plants does at a little holiday color.
And it isn’t Living with the Land without a plant shaped like Mickey Mouse! Typically, this topiary is turned into an ornament.
The structure for the fluted pumpkins looks ready to twinkle!
More light markers can be found beneath the banana tree.
As we enter the aquaculture section, we can see a nod to another animated favorite.
Inside one of the tubes are a series of rings made to resemble Minnie Mouse… complete with a polka-dotted bow!
While they may be getting ready for the holidays, there’s still a cornucopia of fall pumpkins and other gourds on display.
More strands of lights are wrapped around the poles by the peppers and eggplants.
Even the hanging plants are getting in on the fun!
With the shopping days dwindling, two cast members are getting ready to gift wrap boxes of produce.
Personally, I could think of a few fans who would love a gift of fresh produce straight from The Land. These boxes have returned from last year’s holiday overlay.
More lights surround the irrigation pipes for the cucumbers.
And don’t forget the trays of microgreens!
Sometimes, a simple arrangement of red and green plants are enough to show holiday spirit. Check out this “tree” of plants!
Larger lights surround the variety trial sections, while long lights drape from a tree.
A colorful assortment of lights can be found in the tunnel leading to the finale scene.
Things look bright for the attraction as the holiday season approaches! Of course, if you don’t like to wait to open your presents, you can check out our look at last year’s edition of “Living with the Land: Merry and Bright Nights!”
