PHOTOS, VIDEO: New “Hollywood Holiday Tower Hotel” Modified Projection Show Debuts with No Snoap or Sound Effects at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Today marked the start of the holidays at Walt Disney World, and over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a familiar favorite is returning to the Hollywood Tower Hotel. Once titled “Sunset Seasons Greetings”, a set of projections graced the Tower of Terror in the form of a modified “Hollywood Holiday Tower Hotel” show.
After dark, the iconic Hollywood Tower Hotel on Sunset Boulevard will twinkles with projection effects as it becomes the Hollywood Holiday Tower Hotel, magically transforming into a Muppets gingerbread masterpiece, a Toy Story toy hotel, a snowy corner of Arendelle and a Dickensian village inspired by “Mickey’s Christmas Carol.” Join us as we take you through this new holiday experience!

Of course, if you’ve experienced Sunset Seasons Greetings before, you’ll recall that typically, a flurry of “snoap” filled the air with each transition, as well as a series of sound effects. This year, all four scenes rotate without any musical queues or sound effects—just the classic Christmas background music loop for Sunset Boulevard. Due to new regulations, there’s also no snoap—the only “snowfall” taking place at Walt Disney World this year will be at Disney Springs. Still, it’s an enjoyable addition to the jolly atmosphere of Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
