During today’s Investor Day presentation, The Walt Disney Company has announced that Disney+ surpassed 86.8 million subscribers as of December 2. Previously, the streaming platform had reported surpassing 73 million subscribers in October. With lockdowns due to COVID-19, and new shows like “The Mandalorian”, it’s no surprise Disney+ has proven popular.
As for Disney’s other streaming service, Hulu now has 38.8 million paying subscribers, which is up from 36.6 million in October. ESPN Plus has 11.5 million subscribers, up from 10.3 million.
Recent rumors suggest that Hulu might soon be folded into Disney+, potentially creating a streaming platform with over 100 million subscribers.
