After months of seasonal operation, Lotus Blossom Cafe is set to close once again at EPCOT beginning on Monday, January 11th.
Since it reopened back in October, the quick service restaurant’s availability has fluctuated, typically being open exclusively on weekends. Just over a week ago, Cast Members confirmed to us that daily operation would resume until the New Year for the holiday season, implying a closure afterward. Luckily, guests looking for a fast bite at the China Pavilion have a little extra time, with over a week following New Year’s Day, to enjoy their limited menu. As of the writing of this article, no word has been given as to when it will reopen, though guests will be able to enjoy quick service delicacies at The Painted Panda food studio at the Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts from January 8th through February 22nd.

The Lotus Blossom normally has horrible Chinese food, even by American standards, except for their pot stickers, which is good, so we go there to eat that every year. The lychee ice cream is also good. Sad to hear that they are closing. For the most part, both the Lotus Blossom and the Nine Dragon are terrible restaurants. There are many good Chinese restaurants out there, I don’t know why Epcot got stuck with the worst for years. I hope somebody else take over that thing — somebody who’s proven to cook good Chinese food. It’s impossible to get good Chinese food in Disney World, which doesn’t make any sense.
