The dividers erected on the Walt Disney World Monorails several months ago for social distancing measures have now been altered due to issues with a fire suppression system in the ceiling.
We noticed circular cut-outs in the dividers when we rode the Monorail this morning.
A Cast Member told us that the divider had to be altered to make way for the fire suppression system built into the ceiling.
Though this looks like a screw, it actually emits a fire retardant mist in case of a fire. The divider was partially blocking the emitter.
It seems Disney didn’t consider the fire suppression system fully when the dividers were added six months ago, but we’re grateful that this safety feature has now been fixed, likely after inspection.
Because the cutouts are so high up, this also shouldn’t cause significant issues with social distancing either.
Keep checking WDWNT for updates about safety features and social distancing at Walt Disney World Resort.
Just another reason why these silly dividers are senseless and intrusive. Not only ruins the magic, but now creates a fire hazard!!
I’m glad they fixed it before it became an issue. With today’s Monorails, one never knows.
Now this, ladies and gentlemen, is what I call content.
It’ll certainly enhance the flow of Covid for all the “adult disney nerds” who insist on their them park access during the darkness days of a life threatening pandemic.
