Plastic dividers have been added to the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, meaning multiple parties can now board one cockpit, improving capacity for the ride.

There are blue and red social distancing markers throughout the waiting area of the Millennium Falcon.

One party is assigned to each social distancing marker while waiting.

The dividers are attached to the backs of the gunner seats, with some of the plastic wrapping around to the side, creating a 4/2 configuration where one party of up to four can be seated in the front, and parties of up to two can be seated in the back. (Of course, this also means smaller parties will almost always be assigned Engineer, although that was usually the case before the closure as well.)

While each party got their own cockpit regardless of size at the start of the phased reopening, now, unless you’re a party of 6 (the maximum capacity of each ride vehicle), it’s likely you’ll be seated with another party, like we were.

The plastic does affect the view of the screen at the front of the falcon, and will probably only get worse over time with fingerprints.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance added dividers to ride vehicles a couple months ago and began boarding two parties to a car shortly after. Disney’s Hollywood Studios has also seen the return of boarding multiple parties in one car at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Slinky Dog Dash.
