PHOTOS: Work Continues to Shape Illuminated Canopy Structure for TRON Lightcycle Run at the Magic Kingdom
It may be Christmastime at the Magic Kingdom, but work is still moving forward on the illuminated canopy structure for TRON Lightcycle / Run.
Piece by piece, the structure has come together, allowing us to see how it will compliment the coaster track.
The two pieces we spotted not too long ago were still on the ground, though construction workers were on site the morning of Christmas Eve, possibly preparing to raise it into place,
Wait a minute… I thought this was the world of TRON, not The Lion King!
Meanwhile, between the canopy, the support columns, and the track, it’s looking more and more like a maze on the edge of Tomorrowland.
The track has been wrapped in pink and orange coverings to protect it as construction presses on.
Elsewhere, the site seemed mostly quiet, which wasn’t surprising as many workers celebrate the holidays.
When complete, the panels that fit into these triangular frames will create an LED light show as riders race by.
Meanwhile, the morning sun really illuminated the scaffolding that surrounds the last section of the show building to be enclosed, which also serves as the point guests will travel outside on the attraction.
Though an exact opening is still unknown, we’re hoping there’s a new adventure in our stockings next year. In the meantime, we can take a sneak peek at the upcoming gift with our video of its sister attraction, TRON Lightcycle Power Run at Shanghai Disneyland!
