REVIEW: Say “Mele Kalikimaka” to New Tiki and Stitch Gingerbread Cookies at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Say “mele kalikimaka” to your ‘ohana with two new gingerbread cookies at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort for the holiday season.

These gingerbread cookies are actually the same cookie, just different sizes and decorated differently. The decorations for both cookies are printed on a sheet of frosting or fondant, which had no real flavor itself, but they make an adorable gift for the tiki aficionado or Stitch fan in your life.

Large Tiki Gingerbread Cookie – $6.50

There are two tiki cookie sizes, small and large, and we’re glad we went with the big one, because it’s massive enough to share.

Like we said before, while this is little more than a slab of gingerbread with a printed fondant piece on top, the design is really unique and ties in perfectly with the resort.

Now, as for the cookies themselves, these are delicious, pillowy gingerbread cookies. They’re moist to the touch and springy when bitten into. The gingerbread itself was spicy, but not like hot cinnamon… it had notes of ginger and cardamom, giving it a very interesting taste.

This is not your traditional Western gingerbread.

Small Stitch Gingerbread Cookie – $5.50

The Stitch cookie left a bit to be desired from an aesthetic standpoint. It would’ve looked better if they’d trimmed the fondant like they did with the tiki print, instead of just slapping on a square print on a circular cookie.

Still, it was just as delicious and moist—no need to call the Galactic Federation on this guy.

Overall, this was a unique gingerbread experience and we would definitely get one of these again. Both are available at Capt. Cook’s in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, where you can also get a white chocolate peppermint holiday cupcake.
