All five seasons of “The Muppet Show” are coming to Disney+ on February 19. The classic show originally premiered in 1976 and the final two seasons have never been available via home entertainment.
“It’s going to be great to welcome back longtime fans, and to give a new generation of fans a chance to see how we got our start, how Miss Piggy became a star and so much more,” Kermit the Frog said. “Today, I’m proud to say: ‘It’s time to play the music, light the lights and meet the Muppets on Disney Plus tonight!’ And as for Statler and Waldorf, the two old guys in the balcony, I can only add: ‘Sorry, guys, but….here we go again.”

This is great news, since those old shows are better than anything the Muppets have done on TV or Disney+ since. I really hope the old specials they did also wind up on Disney+, such as the nice Christmas special they did with John Denver.
Oh we loved that special too, had the soundtrack vinyl and monday nights were Muppet night! Yeah something fun! Light those lights!
We had the vinyl record, too! And now I have the CD. Found out the special is on YouTube so I’ll search for it there if D+ doesn’t get it by this Christmas.
OMG yes! I think I found a way to work this suggestion into the Disney+ survey I got about 8 times.
