Welcome to another busy day here at the Universal Orlando Resort. There’s a lot happening around the parks today, so let’s get right to it!
Universal Studios Florida is getting ready for Mardi Gras 2021: International Flavors of Carnaval and we’re excited to experience all the park has to offer. The Tribute Store facade has started to take shape but isn’t complete, yet.
Several food tents have received decorative facades and there are decorative wrapped posts around the park.
There’s also a set of frames that form an archway near Cafe la Bamba.
Team Members were working to hang the Mardi Gras banner over the stage in Production Central.
This is how we’re gonna look after we’re done eating and drinking our way around Mardi Gras.
We decided to check out the Bourne Stuntacular and discovered that Team Members are filling every row in the theater, with 3 spaces between each party. You can find out more details in our post here.
As we arrived to Islands of Adventure, we were greeted by a Team Member from Confisco Grille handing out cups of water. This was so refreshing on a warm afternoon!
We decided to stop into Confisco Grille for lunch and ordered the Spinach and Artichoke Dip and the Strawberry Spice Shrub Mojito. The dip was the perfect snack for lunch, but the drink just failed to impress us.
After the disappointing drink at lunch, we decided to go get a better drink. Time for a Bird of Paradise from the Watering Hole in Jurassic Park. You can’t go wrong with any of the alcoholic drinks from the Watering Hole!
Even more construction walls have come down around the Jurassic World VelociCoaster in Jurassic Park. Things are really starting to look good around here. You can see more photos and video of the area here, and don’t forget to check out our footage of the coaster with real riders as well as the recent raptor installation.
The waterfall was flowing once again through the rocks at the Jurassic World VelociCoaster. We haven’t seen this in a while, so it was just as exciting as the first time we spotted it.
Speaking of water flowing, we could see the water being added back into Jurassic Park River Adventure just through the trees over the umbrellas. It won’t be much longer until it opens again after refurbishment.
Attractions Team Members assigned to cleaning positions at their venues are now wearing new “Mask Up!” vests.
Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls was having technical issues all day and was drained when we walked by. Luckily, the ride is scheduled to go down for refurbishment on February 22.
Plastic has been taped along the windows, signs, and clock located at the entrance of the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man while work is happening behind the construction walls.
It’s been a long, busy day, but that’s all for this visit. We’ll be back again soon, so be sure to stay tuned to Universal Parks News Today and WDWNT for more updates!
