Since we checked in a few days ago, Disney has made fast work enclosing the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind facade with wood panels.
There’s plenty more work to be done at the construction site, but we can now see the shape of the building’s angled facade.
More wood will be installed on the sloped ceiling. The two openings on either side are where guests will enter the attraction.
Meanwhile, synthetic underlayment is being placed over the roof paneling prior to solar panel installation.
These blue sheets keep the wood protected from the elements, particularly water, and subsequent breakdown.
While there is no exact opening date yet, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is expected to open sometime in 2022.
Below is approximately what the building will look like when completed.
Once the building is complete, we’re looking forward to seeing the space-age garden in front of it. Keep checking WDWNT for updates.
Guardians of the Galaxy will be awesome ride ever at Epcot!
