It’s almost time to mangiare on some delicious gelato at the Italy Pavilion in EPCOT! A new quick service dining location named La Gelateria is destined for the pavilion, led by the Patina Restaurant Group. While riding along the Disney Skyliner today, we caught a first look at the built-out exterior of the stand being wheeled into the backstage of the park.
La Gelateria will be comprised of two units, painted in burnt terracotta orange-brown to match the general aesthetic of the rest of the pavilion.
One side of the facade is covered in stone, while the other unit features a Spanish-style roof with clay tiles along the top and above the ordering window. A third truck ahead seems to be hauling additional stone walls.
Recently, aerial photographer bioreconstruct shared an overhead look at what’s going on behind the construction walls in the Italy Pavilion:
La Gelateria will be located on The American Adventure side of the Italy Pavilion, with these units installed along the strip of land where the concrete has been removed.
