Disney on Ice Performances Canceled Due to “Multiple and Repeated Violations” of COVID-19 Protocols

The Kansas City Health Department has requested Disney on Ice cancel its remaining performances at the T-Mobile Center due to a COVID-19 outbreak amongst its staff. At least five performers and staff members have tested positive for the virus.

Disney on Ice was expected to hold six more shows at T-Mobile Center from Friday, February 5th, through Sunday, February 7th. Hoewever, according to an order from the city’s Health Department, the production’s approval to perform for spectators was revoked for “multiple and repeated violations” of the COVID-19 mitigation plan both parties agreed to. A mitigation plan is required as part of the mayor’s restrictions on indoor gatherings during the pandemic.

Kansas City spokesman Chris Hernandez stated,

To protect Kansas City families and residents attending the event, the Health Department asked Disney on Ice to cancel the Kansas City tour. On Friday, the Health Department issued an order revoking approval of gathering.

The T-Mobile Center has since taken to Twitter to release a statement on the remaining shows:

Feld Entertainment, the production company behind Disney On Ice, later released this statement regarding the cancelations:
