During a virtual press event to promote the launch of the Disney+ “Star” branch in the UK and Ireland, Disney executives were asked about the possible addition to one of the most popular series from the 1980s, “The Golden Girls”.
Disney Plus Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) senior vice president Luke Bradley-Jones said he is “really excited” and had been “working hard” on bringing the beloved sitcom to the streaming service. He added, “I can’t give you the exact date, but coming this summer you’ll have every season of The Golden Girls, every ever episode of The Golden Girls, available on Disney Plus.”
Though its seven seasons are currently available on Hulu, we thank Disney for being a friend and bringing the Golden Girls to another streaming platform. Are there any series you wish would be added to Disney+? Let us know in the comments!

Would love to see Galavant added on either Disney+ or Hulu since its no longer on Amazon.
Is this for D+ Europe only, or the US as well? Does this mean GG will no longer be available on Hulu once on D+? The article is vague…

this is gonna be a sh*t show if disney takes control. there are sooooo many parts that will be chopped from the show because it doesn’t live up to disney standards.
Golden Girls was produced and owned by Disney (Touchstone Television, distributed by Buena Vista Home Entertainment).
