PHOTO REPORT: Universal Orlando Resort 2/5/21 ( Tribute Store, Mardi Gras Candy, Magic Candle Company Candles, and More)
Welcome to another beautiful day at the Universal Orlando Resort. We had a reservation for the Tribute Store preview in the afternoon, so we made our way over to Islands of Adventure first thing this morning.
Taking advantage of the Early Park Admission crowds in Hogsmeade.
Rope dropping Jurassic Park with a small crowd of people. We’re sure this will change a lot once Jurassic World VelociCoaster opens.
No Kaboomsky today. The detonator is missing for the Hush-A-Bomb in Toon Lagoon.
Even though the detonator is missing, the rain is falling once again just across the way near the entrance of Toon Extra.
We made our way over to Universal Studios Florida next and the first thing we noticed was the return of the taxi outside of the TODAY Cafe.
Mardi Gras merchandise was set up in the Universal Studios Store with a fun display of beads and pirate skeletons. There’s even some new candy with Mardi Gras packaging.
Tons of Universal Studios themed candy has arrived for Mardi Gras. Giant chocolate coins, gummy gators, salt water taffy and more can be found at the Universal Studios Store at the front of the park.
We made our way over for the Universal Orlando Annual Passholder preview of the Mardi Gras Tribute Store and were excited to explore for the first time. There are four themed rooms with merchandise, snacks, and hidden “Easter Eggs” so be sure to check out our full post and video tour to get a closer look. If you’re visiting, keep an eye out for the Handbook for the Recently Deceased, lighting from the old “Jaws” attraction, and more.
Among all the Universal Studios merchandise, there are also themed candles from Magic Candle Company available. We picked up a few for ourselves and gifts.
Only one more day until Mardi Gras kicks off! We can’t wait to enjoy all the food booths and entertainment.
That’s all for this visit to the Universal Orlando Resort! Be sure to stay tuned for all the latest updates and coverage of Mardi Gras 2021: International Flavors of Carnaval!
