Earlier this week we reported that construction began on dams for both the east and west side of the Cinderella Castle moat. Shortly after, the moat began draining. Now, with the announcement of the 50th anniversary decor being added to the icon, we know exactly why.

A significant drop in the water levels is a pretty big change from yesterday.

There is a clear line on the rocks where the water level normally sits.

The dams will allow for the water directly in front of Cinderella Castle to drain, making construction around that area significantly easier.

A Cast Member was documenting the falling water levels.

That construction on the stage continues, as most of it remains covered in scrims.

The water pump is not currently running this morning.

One inlet hose has been removed from the water pump.
