PHOTOS: Moat Draining Continues as 50th Anniversary Preparations Begin on Cinderella Castle

Earlier this week we reported that construction began on dams for both the east and west side of the Cinderella Castle moat. Shortly after, the moat began draining. Now, with the announcement of the 50th anniversary decor being added to the icon, we know exactly why.

A significant drop in the water levels is a pretty big change from yesterday.

There is a clear line on the rocks where the water level normally sits.

The dams will allow for the water directly in front of Cinderella Castle to drain, making construction around that area significantly easier.
