The Liberty Square Riverboat at Magic Kingdom has been closed since October while its underwater track was replaced and other refurbishments took place around Rivers of America. Today, the Liberty Belle returned home to Riverboat Landing and is once again taking guests on a cruise around Tom Sawyer Island.

Early this morning, the Liberty Belle had a test run around the island before picking up guests.

Riverboat Landing was sometimes used as overflow queue for The Haunted Mansion during the closure.

It was nice to see the riverboat return to Liberty Square.

We boarded for the first round-trip of the day.

Social distancing measures from the riverboat’s July reopening remain in place, although this particular social distancing marker was covered by a trash can.

Though guests are encouraged to stay in one spot during their journey for social distancing, we were able to walk around the mostly empty boat before leaving the dock.

The three-level riverboat means guests can get a great view of Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square, Frontierland, and Tom Sawyer Island.

On our journey, we did notice a few changes to the scenes only visible from the Liberty Square Riverboat.

This broken-down building usually has smoke rising from within, but that effect has been shut off.

Joe and his chair were missing from next to the Alligator Swamp shed.

As we approached the Native American village, we spotted a few people who we don’t think were supposed to be visible.

The construction workers left quickly though and we had an unobstructed view of the detailed village.

Animals still frolic through the nature surrounding Rivers of America.

It looks like this boat has been freshly painted red.

Before we knew it, we were pulling back up to Riverboat Landing.
