Flame Tree Barbecue in Disney’s Animal Kingdom has a new Valentine’s Day cupcake available for the rest of February. This cupcake is inspired by the “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” scene from The Lion King and features Simba and Nala, so you could match it to this year’s Valentine MagicBand.

Chocolate cake with milk chocolate ganache filling, vanilla buttercream, and a delicious image of Simba and Nala

There’s a lot of buttercream on top of this cupcake, as you might be able to tell. It was cold so firm but had a good, classic buttercream flavor.

The Simba and Nala white chocolate coin was actually pretty tasty for a garnish.

The chocolate cake itself was also firm but not stale. It had a nice chocolate flavor.

The ganache filling was creamy like soft milk chocolate and very tasty. We would have liked a better filling to cake ratio though.

Overall, this cupcake had a cute presentation, but no standout flavor and not a good balance of elements. We’re glad we got it, but we don’t need to get it again.
