One side of the cupcake features Carl and Ellie surrounded by a pink fondant heart that is being carried away by colorful balloons.

The outside of the cake also has white fondant clouds against the blue sky. The bottom is trimmed in light green ribbon which is not edible.

The inside of the cake revealed distinct cake layers with the flavored mousse and jam in between.

Our first bite tasted overwhelming like peanut butter. We thought the strawberry cake was a little sour.

If you look closely, you can see the choclate crisp pearls in the mousse.

This reminded us of a peanut butter Twix bar with vanilla icing.

Overall, we thought there was too much peanut butter taste and not enough strawberry flavoring.

  1. In my opinion, amorettes is incredibly overrated. Their flavor combinations are strange to me and a lot of times the sweet to sour balance is off. Also why would they make a peanut butter cake with a grape soda topper and fill it with strawberry jam instead of grape jelly? This place is not worth the hype or the money :(

  2. I ADORE Amorette’s. My daughter got a petit for her birthday cake when she celebrated at Disney World, and now it is a tradition. We always stop by for macarons and treats. Everything has always been unbelievably delicious. It’s definitely not the bakery for the “plain vanilla” crowd. This is true patisserie and worth every single cent (and having to order ahead!)

      • Tom-have you been hearing how quickly they are selling out each day? I’m more interested in the decor than the taste on this one, but they were sold out yesterday and I’m curious what time I might have to shoot for to get one when I go back today. Up is my Valentine’s theme.
