Select Walt Disney World Resort hotels (and Disney’s Vero Beach Resort) have a new cupcake available this weekend only to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The “Call Me Sweetheart” cupcake is available at several hotels but we picked it up at Disney’s Pop Century Resort.
Call Me Sweetheart – $5.49
Chocolate cupcake filled with hazelnut cream topped with chocolate hazelnut and strawberry buttercream, white chocolate heart, and strawberry pearled crisp
The frosting on this cupcake was smooth, with flavoring similar to Nutella but not exactly the same. The hazelnut flavor is very understated.
The strawberry frosting was sweet without tasting like medicine. The crispy pearls were a nice texture addition.
The presentation was cute, with a hidden Mickey in the frosting and edible glitter.
This cake was extra soft and moist, but not wet, and made for a wonderful cupcake. It had a rich chocolate taste.
Our cupcake was missing its filling which was super disappointing. Thankfully, there was plenty of frosting to make up for the lack of filling, so it was still a balanced cupcake.
Overall, this was a good cupcake and we would get it again, but wouldn’t make a special trip for it.
