PHOTO REPORT: Magic Kingdom & Disney Springs (TRON Canopy Structure Complete, Peter Pan’s Flight Sign Removed, New Boozy Bourbon Bunny, and More)
Hello from a lovely and hot day here in Walt Disney World! We started our day in the Magic Kingdom to see what new things we could find there, and we’re glad we did. Let’s get started!
As we entered the park early in the morning, we caught the last few moments of the flag-raising in Town Square. It was a beautiful, quiet moment, with these two Cast Members carrying out their duty as guests rushed into the park on their way to their favorite attraction or photo spot. We’re glad we could share in this, especially as the flag was at half staff today to honor the victims of the tragedy in Boulder, Colorado.
Moving on to Cinderella Castle, we found significant progress had been made overnight on the metal tubing on the right side of Cinderella Castle Stage.
On the left side, metal grates had been added on top of the metal tubing.
Yet another small swag has been added to Cinderella Castle as part of the 50th Anniversary decorations. This one is on the Eastside and is just barely visible from the front of the Castle. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Concrete work continues in Tomorrowland, with new patches blocked off from guests almost daily. Today, we found this patch near the exit of the Tomorrowland Speedway.
We found a second patch blocked off just across from the entrance to Tomorrowland Speedway. The sections closest to the entrance and exit of the attraction were completed earlier this month.
As seen from a further vantage point, we found the final crosspieces finally in place on the illuminated canopy of TRON Lightcycle / Run. While the skeleton of the structure may be completed, this is just the first step in this structure. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Yesterday, we found Gaston’s Fountain drained yet again, and it seemed that the statue may have gotten some cleaning. Today we saw that the statue had definitely gotten a thorough cleaning, and the water marks had been removed. We hope to see the fountain refilled and functioning soon!
A new construction box has appeared in Fantasyland in the drain in between “it’s a small world” and Peter Pan’s Flight. This drain often has crowd barriers covering it, and it seems a more permanent solution may be on its way.
The iconic three-dimensional sign above the entrance of Peter Pan’s Flight has been removed for refurbishment. A vinyl banner has been put in its place temporarily. For more pictures and information, check out our article here.
Just around on the corner on the existing painted scrim covering the Peter Pan’s Flight building, sconce lights have been installed, signaling a potentially lengthy refurbishment.

Work continues on the refurbishment of the Swiss Family Treehouse, with new decorative oars installed today along the entrance walkway.
While we did have a construction update-heavy day, we did get to have a little bit of fun. We got a big wave “Hello” from the “main mouse” himself as the Mickey Mouse & Friends Cavalcade went by.
We also found a sale on one of the cutest shoulder pets around, this Toddler Porg. We spotted this sale at the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.
After finding that the Coconut soft serve at Aloha Isle Refreshments was available by the cup a little while ago, we decided to give it a try today, but with an upgraded twist of swirling it with Pineapple DOLE Whip. We have to say, we’re definitely a fan! For more pictures and information, including our full review, check out our article here.
We had a great time at the Magic Kingdom today, but we weren’t quite done yet! We headed to Disney Springs next to check out what might be new there.
As is the case everywhere it seems, we found pavement work having been done overnight just outside of Ron Jon, and blocked from guests by crowd barriers.
While the construction itself doesn’t look any different at Splitsville Luxury Lanes, we noticed that three large plants could be seen beyond the construction wall.
At the WonderGround Gallery in the Marketplace Co-Op, we found Jasmine-Becket Griffith would be doing an appearance as part of the “Celebrate Her Story” displays and events across Disney Springs.
At World of Disney, we found a new “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” unisex shirt available for $36.99.
A new treat for Easter has hopped into The Ganachery, and we loved it! This little chocolate bunny held a chocolate bourbon beverage, and we loved it. You can read our full review here.
We had a great day at Walt Disney World, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
