*NEW* Spring Onion Soup with Crispy Shallots and Micro Chive – $4.75

This soup is thick and hearty with perfect viscosity. Unlike many onion soups, this one is bursting with different flavors. The soup is robust and complex and doesn’t just taste like onion puree. The crispy shallots and micro chive add some freshness and a great texture.

*NEW* Duck Confit with Carrot Purée, Roasted Root Vegetables, Rainbow Chard and Duck Jus (Gluten/Wheat-Friendly) – $7.25

We were pleased to see this was a rather large portion for a festival dish. While a little on the fatty side, the duck was well prepared and packed with flavor. The duck was a little salty, although it complements the carrot puree nicely. Overall this is a great value.

*NEW* Off the “Beet”en Path: Profiteroles with Red Beet Mousse, Golden Beet Pastry Cream, Whipped Goat Cheese Cream and Candied Walnuts – $5.50

The sweet beet and cream cheese flavors work together wonderfully. The profiterole works as a conveyance for the creamy accompaniment, but other than that we don’t think it adds anything to the dish. The presentation is simple but elegant, with a flower and candied walnuts which add a nice crunch. Overall, we enjoyed these little pastries.

*NEW* 81Bay Brewing Co. Watermelon Mint Wheat Ale, Tampa, FL (5.0% ABV) – $4.50 for 6oz, 8.50 for 12oz

John E. on Untapped writes: “Lots of watermelon with a little [tartness]. Something in the finish alludes to mint, but not enough mint.”

*NEW* Hibiscus Lemonade Cocktail featuring Islamorada Brewery & Distillery Hibiscus Gin ($32/bottle) – $11

The first sip of this beverage was extremely tart, to the point that it made our mouths pucker. After letting the ice melt a little bit, this was a really nice lemonade option. The strong notes of hibiscus and the dry gin help balance out the sour lemonade. If you enjoy tropical hibiscus flavors and dry gin, this would be a refreshing choice!
