REVIEW: New Easter Egg Hunt Cupcake and Pastel Mickey Whoopie Pie Available at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

With St. Patrick’s Day over, Disney has started rolling out the Easter treats. Several bunny and egg-themed items can be found at Gasparilla Island Grill in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Among the available treats are the Bunny Box, The Grand Egg, Marshmallow Bunny Tail Pops, and more! We narrowed in on two items though: Easter Egg Hunt Cupcake and Pastel Mickey Whoopie Pie.

Easter Egg Hunt Cupcake – $5.99

The carrot cake cupcake itself is good, although it tasted more like a spice cake than a carrot cake. It was more dry, there were no actual carrot pieces, and it was spicier than we’re used to. It felt like a marshmallow fluff.

The icing was sweet and there was lots of it. The cupcake felt unbalanced because of how much icing there was. The filling was also very sweet for a cupcake.

The presentation is wonderful, with the cute bunny sticking out of the top, but we personally wouldn’t get it again. We didn’t hate it, but we didn’t love it.

Pastel Mickey Whoopie Pie – $4.99

Spring-colored vanilla icing sandwiched between buttery pastel vanilla sponge cake

We’ve never had a whoopie pie where the filling was just frosting, but that’s what this one was. Usually, there’s more of a marshmallow base or something that would make it more bearable to have so much at once.

The cookies were just dry, tasteless, colored, soft cookies. Honestly, this is the worst dessert we’ve ever had at the Grand Floridian. Normally, their bar is pretty high, so we were disappointed. The presentation was okay and the color was cute, but we would not get it again.
