Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle has just announced on his Instagram that the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover will reopen this weekend at the Magic Kingdom.
The reopening of the ride will now take place on either April 24th or 25th, a week ahead of the current planned reopening date.
The attraction closed in March of 2020, unrelated to the pandemic, and had yet to reopen. The attraction was set to reopen on May 1 of this year, but was suddenly moved up just hours after the PR-nightmare of another Disney Skyliner crash.

Hooray! The triumphant return at last! Hopefully this will be the last time we need to see the word “breaking” associated with the PeopleMover for a good long while…

Under Chapek’s “leadership” it only took a little over a year. Mansion’s have been built in shorter times.
