Permit Filed for “Show Element” at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT

It’s been a while since we’ve seen any permits filed for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT and construction on the project is slow going. Walt Disney Imagineering has now finally filed the first show element permit for the upcoming attraction.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be the first “other-world” showcase pavilion at Epcot. The attraction will feature a new storytelling coaster that rotates to focus guests on the action, and will include the first reverse launch on a Disney coaster. (Disney/Marvel)

The permit indicates Project S, which stands for Sausalito, Cosmic Rewind’s codename. The codename is a reference to Sausalito cookies, which is, in turn, a reference to Star-Lord’s ship the Milano.

Unfortunately, the permit doesn’t expand on what exactly the “show element” will be. We suspect themed props and decor may finally be getting installed. The contractor listed is Brilliant Creative Fabrication, which has worked on several theme park projects.
