PHOTOS: Coca-Cola Cool Ship Repainting Blasts Off to Cool Scanner at Magic Kingdom

After construction walls went up at the end of last month, we finally saw progress on the Coca-Cola Cool Ship and the Cool Scanner yesterday at the Magic Kingdom. Painting has continued with more sleek new updates to the Tomorrowland drink stand.

The Coke bottle rocket atop the Cool Ship has received a fresh coat of bold blue paint. We’re hoping the Thirst Rangers spaceship atop the Cool Scanner receives the same treatment.

The stylish black paint has arrived at the Cool Scanner. The formerly-gray columns look bold and contrast well with the white and red.

The black continues to be added to the Cool Ship.

The repainting is part of a larger refurbishment project ongoing at the Magic Kingdom in advance of the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort. The 50th anniversary takes place this October 1st, but the celebrations will continue for 18 months.
