Fans of Disneyland’s famous Matterhorn Macaroon will love this new Everest Base Camp Macaroon! This treat is shaped like the three iconic peaks of Mount Everest and is of course available near Expedition Everest in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Everest Base Camp Macaroon – $5.99
“Everest-sized” chocolate and coconut macaroon with a snowcap of white chocolate and a flurry of snowflake sprinkles on a base of green tea chocolate crumbs
This was a fresh, good-quality macaroon. The shredded coconut was very evident, and it was moist and fresh.
There was a gentle chocolate taste. The green chunks on the bottom are matcha.
Between the matcha crumbs, the chocolate it was dipped in, and the white chocolate on top, you would think this would be an overwhelming dessert, but it really wasn’t.
This was a well-balanced and tasty treat. It would be perfect to share, as the three peaks break off from each other easily.
The presentation was wonderful, the crystal sugar on top was the perfect finishing touch.
Overall, this was a fantastic dessert and definitely a pleasant surprise. We would definitely get it again.
This unique treat can be found at Thirsty River Bar & Trek Snacks. Will you be trying it on your next Disney’s Animal Kingdom trip? Let us know in the comments!
