REVIEW: New Birthday Cake Celebration Churro is a Sweet Way to Mark the Reopening of Disneyland

Greetings from The Happiest Place on Earth! Disneyland is open once more, and it feels like it’s time for a celebration. Thankfully, there’s a new way to taste the excitement with the Celebration Churro!

The churro can be found at the cart near the hub of the park, just steps away from Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The birthday cake-flavored churro sells for $5.75, with a marshmallow dipping sauce available for an additional dollar. Given that we missed a big 65th birthday party for the park last year, this seems like a tasty way to make up for it.

But does the taste match the fun appearance. Let’s find out!

While it wasn’t a complete disappointment, there wasn’t much special about this one. This was a churro basically just coated in a very sweet sugar. It didn’t taste like birthday cake to us, leaving us to believe that it was literally just blue sugar.

This was definitely sweeter than a regular churro, but otherwise, not too different. It wasn’t too soft or too crunchy, delivering a perfect texture.

The marshmallow dipping sauce comes with a bunch of colorful sprinkles scattered on top. We thought the dip made it better, as it added more flavor and had a good portion size.

This was somewhat messy, but most sugary churros are. Still, it’s not the worst thing we’ve had, though you can probably find a more exciting snack elsewhere. But on the bright side, you can still imagine it’s part of the 65th celebrations… at least until July 17th, when the park turns 66.
