For the month of April, Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs has a special Florida-inspired orange pecan chocolate chip cookie.

According to Gideon’s Bakehouse via Instagram, the new cookie was brought to the bakery by “Orange Boy” Stuart Valencia. Stuart is also featured on the monthly limited edition art print and menu.

Orange Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookie – $6

Our vanilla bean Cookie dough is fused with Orange and mixed with our favorite Dark Chocolates. To add some crunch, the exterior is covered in delightful South Florida Pecan Pralines and a very special Candied Orange Peel, given to us by Stuart himself.

This Florida-themed cookie starts off with a vanilla bean cookie base, a staple of Gideon’s lineup which will please most palates. The base is then infused with a massive kick of orange flavoring, joined by candied orange peels on the top.

The orange flavor is not subtle, and the candied oranges give it a slightly artificial taste, even though we know Gideon’s is using organic orange.

The dark chocolate chips are heavily added, both inside and out, and are the strongest flavor. This tastes like a chocolate chip cookie with orange added, not the other way around.

Finally, the pecan pralines are a nice addition but difficult to identify among the other flavors and textures.

Overall, if you enjoy the combination of chocolate and orange, you can’t go wrong with this cookie — but snackers looking for a more subdued taste have come to the wrong place.

This cookie is only available through the end of April, and there’s a limited supply each day. Gideon’s Bakehouse’s previous monthly cookies include the “Eternal Flame” cookie and a peanut butter chocolate swirl cookie, which they also made available as a cookie cake.

  1. I don’t love their original chocolate chip tbh but I have enjoyed the peanut butter crunch, toffee chocolate chip was OK too but my very favorite is the one that is exclusive to the Disney Springs location and that is the coffee cake cookie. I truly wish I could get it at the WP location.
