BREAKING: Disneyland Resort to End COVID-19 Temperature Checks for Guests and Cast Members Beginning June 15th

As California gets the all-clear to fully reopen, the Disneyland Resort is getting ready to end temperature checks for guests and Cast Members beginning June 15th, according to The Orange County Register.

Checks will end for visitors at the Pixar Pals parking structure, eastside Harbor Boulevard entrance and westside Downtown Disney entrances on June 15. While they won’t be screened onsite, Cast Members will still be subject to the at-home COVID-19 checklist that includes temperature screenings.

A resort official stated:

Based on the advice of the CDC and our local health officials, and given Orange County is now in the yellow tier and the state of California is preparing to reopen the economy on June 15, we will end onsite temperature screenings at Disneyland resort for guests and cast members starting on June 15. We will continue to monitor the guidance of public health authorities and government agencies going forward and will make appropriate adjustments in the future based on that guidance.

As of June 15th, California will shift its face covering and physical distancing polices to be in accordance with the recently-released CDC guidelines, which say that these measures are mostly unnecessary for fully vaccinated individuals. On Wednesday, Orange County, which is home to the resort, entered the state’s least-restrictive yellow tier in Governor Gavin Newsom’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. On the other side of the country, Walt Disney World ended temperature checks for guests entering theme parks on May 15th.

We will report more on this story as we learn it.
