Welcome to a gray, overcast day here at the Universal Orlando Resort. The sky might be cloudy, but the cooler weather feels great today. Let’s make our way over to Islands of Adventure first to see what’s happening.
As we arrived at the park, we noticed the crowds were relatively low. Wait times around the park weren’t bad either, but this is also due to the fact that most attractions are filling every seat and every row and utilizing the single rider lines again.
The line for Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure stretched back into the Lost Continent, as usual. The attraction had a 60 minute wait when we walked by.
VelociCoaster Team Members were out encouraging guests to come ride the attraction. They were using a microphone to announce that VelociCoaster only had a 50 minute wait and to let guests know this is a great time to ride.
The barricades are still around the bases of the trees in the VelociCoaster courtyard.
The single rider line was at capacity but the standby line was only 50 minutes. Definitely worth the wait.
The eggs have returned and the scanners are working again in the nursery of the Jurassic Park Discovery Center.
Outside of the Discovery Center and the Burger Digs, there are some repairs taking place on the pavement, so there is a small section of barricades in the pathway.
If your kids are misbehaving, there is a solution.
Attraction wait times were low around the park.
We stopped into the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium and Savory Feast Kitchen to check out the macaron case. There’s nothing better than a beautiful, full display case of macarons. They also have signs up for Father’s Day.
Universal Studios Florida wasn’t very crowded, either. Wait times for the rides were also very low around here.
Even food lines were short.
We recently spotted Team Members hanging a new curtain in front of Peek-A-Boo’s house in the old “A Day in the Park with Barney” theater. There are two metal frames in front of the curtain now, but we’re not sure whether this is Halloween Horror Nights prep or something else.
Thanks to the cooler temperatures, there was no line at Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour in Diagon Alley. We stopped in to grab a cone with Strawberry Peanut Butter and Salted Caramel Blondie ice creams topped with shortbread crumbles.
Wiseacre’s Wizard Equipment has a beautiful ceiling. Sometimes we walk through just to appreciate it.
There’s always something fun on display in the 5 & 10. Today we found this gremlin in a trench coat.
That’s all for this visit to the Universal Orlando Resort. Thanks for following us around today and be sure to stay tuned to Universal Parks News Today for more updates.
