The 1994 “New Tomorrowland” gear pavement continues to be replaced with generic pavement as part of the larger refurbishment of Magic Kingdom ahead of its 50th anniversary.
The gear pavement is in Tomorrowland’s main thoroughfare.
Next to the new grey slabs, we can see a lot of scoring across the ground.
The freshest section of pavement is surrounded by ropes as it dries.
Slats of wood separate the pavement.
Scoring covers the ground outside of what was once Stitch’s Great Escape.
Some of a gear still remains beneath these Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover supports.
There’s more fresh pavement leading towards the shuttered Merchant of Venus.
Pavement will also be replaced between Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, which seemed to be preparing to reopen.
