Reservation Window Delayed for “Mears Connect” Replacement of Disney’s Magical Express

Disney’s Magical Express, providing transport to and from Walt Disney World and Orlando International Airport, will be ending service in January 2022. Mears will replace the service with “Mears Connect” in that same month.

Originally, the Mears website stated guests would be able to make reservations for Mears Connect starting in May 2021. It now states reservations will open sometime this summer.

The reason for the delay is unknown, but the website still states service will begin in January 2022.

  1. Easy they need drivers!!!!! The pandemic made a lot of drivers looks elsewhere.

  2. This is not a good move …. disney should keep this so people have a one stop place to book transportation from airport to Disney property.

  3. The magic express service, specifically the checked baggage service, was the only reason we continued to use MCO airport. We were reminded of this on Sunday when the bag drop for our airline was so long that one family member had to miss our flight home while waiting to drop off luggage. The line was moving especially slowly because everyone was missing their flights and having to rebook when they got to the front.

He was lucky, as he found a flight to an airport an hour away for later that night. He heard other families ahead of him in line that could only get new fights 2 days in the future. Even relatively good experiences at MCO still rank among the worst airport experiences I’ve had in all my travels, and when things go wrong there it’s a nightmare.

Hoping Brightline from TPA becomes an option sooner than later.
